Now that we have a family, I feared our Dolomite days wouldn't come easy. However, Stef found what is called a kinderHotel within the heart of this region. Interestingly enough, only families can stay at a kinder hotels. It was great fun taking Yuri on the Gondolas, petting zoo and on short hikes high amongst the beauty of the Dolomites. Because we had an option for daycare, Papa and mommy were able to do some nice "just the 2 of us" rides and hikes. Another plus with kinderhotels, no need to show up like a traveling circus with a car full of toys, strollers and backpacks! If you take a look at Hotel Cavalino Bianco you'll see it has the right details. Sadly Hotels like this don't yet exist in US. Until they do, I'll try my best to make our family vacations in these Kinderhotels .On the tail end of our trip it was nice to have dinner with Francisca and her family in Garmisch, see Stef's family back in Munich, and see the little cousins play together. On one night after a few schnapps, we laughed until our sides ached watching heny the dog and the 2 kids have a hilarious play session!
