Scufoneda March 9-16 2002

Until February 15th the Dolimites had almost no snow. It was real bad season and very much unlike last year. Fortunately two snow storms came prior to the Scufonda . Still though not alot of snow. At times powder, other times corn. It was pretty good betewn the rocks !

At the Scufons telemark festival I skied with some of the best telemark skiers on the Planet. But, they are also some of the nicest people I've ever met. Carlo, Mauro, and Pallo skied step couloirs full of funky snow and never missed a turn. I was impressed and at times felt like a complete beginner.

It was a bummer that Stef couldn't make the trip. Being alone in the 3 star hotel just didn't feel right. Thankfully the Scufons group made diner together part of the stay for everyone. They also gave me deals on ski tickets and demo skis, the Italians are the best.

Next time I'll back with Stef!
